— Our story

Building a Firm Directors Trust

Business Guardian was established in 2013 by a team with deep roots in UK corporate insolvency and business recovery. The founding principle was simple: too many businesses were failing not because they were beyond saving, but because their directors received advice too late, too poorly informed, or from advisors with no direct
insolvency expertise.

The landscape of UK business insolvency has changed significantly since 2013. Insolvency rates in 2024 and 2025 reached near thirty-year highs, driven by the delayed impact of pandemic-era debt, rising interest rates, and sustained cost pressure on UK SMEs. In that environment, the demand for genuinely expert, genuinely independent advice has never been greater.

Business Guardian has grown to become one of the North West’s most trusted specialist advisory practices — with reach extending across every region of the UK. Our caseload spans construction, retail, hospitality, professional services, manufacturing, and technology.

— How we work

Quality Over Volume.
Always.

Every director who contacts us speaks with an experienced adviser at their first consultation — not an intake team or a case handler. We assess the situation, explain the options in plain English, and give an honest view of what we believe the right course of action is.

You Speak with an Expert

Every first consultation is handled by an experienced adviser with direct insolvency knowledge — not a call handler or intake team.

We Give You the Truth

If we do not believe we can help, we say so. If another professional would serve you better, we make that recommendation. Our reputation depends on outcomes, not volume.
